Ventilux: Investing in people to secure tomorrow

At Ventilux, we believe that the strength of our business lies not only in the quality of our products and services, but also in the people who deliver them. That’s why we’ve always placed great emphasis on supporting, training, and developing our team.

From apprenticeships to on-the-job mentoring, we’re committed to growing talent from within – ensuring that our team have every opportunity to progress and thrive in their careers.

Joshua Mounsey is now our Senior Service Engineer, who began his journey with Ventilux in 2021 as an apprentice. Through hard work, hands-on experience, and continued training, Josh has built a strong career in the business and is now a key figure in supporting both the team and our clients.

Josh tells us what it means to him, “Starting out as an apprentice at Ventilux gave me the chance to learn on the job and grow at my own pace. I’ve always been encouraged to develop my skills, and that support has helped me build a career I’m really proud of.”

Similarly, Les Simmons, our Senior On-Site Supervisor, who joined us in 2017, provides invaluable knowledge and leadership to ensure that projects run smoothly and that younger team members are constantly learning.

“Passing on knowledge is just as important as delivering the job itself. We always want apprentices to leave each project with more confidence and experience than when they arrived,” shares Les.

The pipeline of talent at Ventilux doesn’t stop there. Daniel Bold, who joined last year, Reece Webb, and Harry Adams, who both joined the team in 2025, are all progressing through their training and college courses, combining classroom learning with practical, real-world experience. By supporting them at every stage, we’re helping to build their confidence, skills, and expertise so they can become the future experts in our industry.

Ventilux team

At Ventilux, we know that development doesn’t end with a qualification. Technology and industry standards are constantly evolving, and we ensure our team stay ahead through ongoing training and professional development. Whether it’s new product innovations, updates to safety standards, or advanced engineering skills, our teams are encouraged to keep learning and growing.

Our approach is simple: by investing in our people, we invest in the future of Ventilux. Apprenticeships and training schemes provide a strong foundation, while ongoing development ensures our teams are always ready to meet the demands of our clients and the wider industry.

That investment in people also comes to life on major projects. For example, at Manchester Airport, where Ventilux has been maintaining systems since 2019, our engineers are not only delivering resilient, future-proof emergency power backup solutions but also gaining invaluable real-world experience. With two further project phases currently underway, the airport environment provides our team with daily opportunities to refine their skills, adapt to complex challenges, and apply their training at one of the UK’s busiest transport hubs. This blend of technical delivery and personal development shows how our approach to investing in people benefits both our clients and our teams alike.

We’re proud of the journeys our team members have taken so far – and we’re even more excited to see how their careers continue to develop.
