Our Standards & Compliance CPD explores the essential updates, explains defined and undefined escape routes, open-area lighting, high-risk task areas, uniformity, response times, signage formats, and the placement of luminaires throughout a building. It also covers lift requirements, plant rooms, car parks, medical environments, external routes, and other locations where specific emergency lighting provisions apply. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how to design and maintain compliant systems, along with the documentation and certification required under Annexes C2–C8.

Our System Choice CPD focuses on helping designers, consultants, and contractors understand the differences between self-contained solutions, central battery systems, and static inverter systems. Through real-world examples, the session explores how each system performs, their advantages and limitations, and how environmental factors, installation costs, monitoring needs, resilience, and long-term maintenance influence the final selection. This session is ideal for anyone involved in specifying emergency lighting for new builds, refurbishments, or complex environments.
